Role of Sainik Welfare Organization –India (SWO-India)
Considering the very basic, crucial and essential necessity of a soldier and his fundamental right to own a house, “Sainik Welfare Organization-India” has been facilitating provision of housing solutions at very low and affordable prices to the two segments of central government uniformed personnel, the Serving and the Retired who shares the right to a decent standard of living together within the same community after retirement from active service.
Soldiers get only 2 months leave in a year which is too little a time to search for a suitable place with all necessary facilities and thereafter undertake the construction of the house.. There are a number of War widows who are left helpless after the demise of their husbands. They do not have easy accessibility for education of their children in villages and are left at the mercy of their relatives whose only aim is to exploit maximum from the widow’s husband’s compensation.
The organization aims to help such needy soldiers and widows of the Armed and Paramilitary Forces to help them settle down at the place of their choice giving them an opportunity to live together, within proximity of available medical facilities and re-employment options which are essential for fulfillment of human life of a soldier beyond simple survival after retirement.
The plight and serving conditions of soldiers of this nation needs to be understood by each Indian Citizen and whatever is contributed for fulfillment of their needs by anyone should be recognized as a social contribution.
A team of well meaning retired officers and men have volunteered to traverse on a strenuous course of welfare oriented activities for true heroes of our country and have pledged to transform itself into a saga of dedicated service to the cause of humanity and particularly the “Sainiks’ Community”.
